TRANSFER STATION OPERATOR TRAINING
This one-day course helps new and existing transfer station operators and/or managers understand the regulatory requirements involved in operating a transfer station in Iowa and the impact these rules have on specific job duties. The training will help operators improve operational safety, efficiencies, customer service, and enhance their knowledge of state and federal regulations. This training program is certified by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Students completing the course and successfully passing an OPTIONAL written examination (proctored immediately after the training) will receive an Iowa Transfer Station Operator certificate. Facilities permitted for more than 20,000 tons per year are required to have a certified operator on duty during operational hours. Students may complete the class without taking the examination.
